A Proper Sales Tax

Alberta has no sales tax. How do you even live like this?

BC charges a 7% provincial sales tax on most things. Alberta charges nothing.1 Albertans buy groceries every week without contributing a single extra cent to the collective.

Alberta also added a new 8% tax bracket on the first $60,000 of income. Its own budget says a $75,000 earner pays about $2,100 less provincial tax than in BC.2

Alberta's budget calls this a $16.9 billion "tax advantage".3 We call it $16.9 billion of unclaimed solidarity.
