The Healthy Queues Act

Alberta is fixing hips on time. Where is the suffering?

When an Albertan breaks a hip, 87.4% get surgery within the national benchmark. In BC it's 74.9%.1 BC patients wait a median 33.8 hours. Albertans wait just 21.5, barely enough time to bond with the other patients.

Radiation therapy is no better. 97.0% of Albertans start treatment on time, against 91.3% in BC.2

Since 2019, Alberta has increased knee replacements by 50.9%. BC, a humble 20.3%.3

The waiting room is where solidarity happens. Every surgery done on time is a conversation that never was.
